People are getting desperate and dumping domestic rabbits outside daily.
This is a death sentence for a domestic rabbit.
What should you do if you find a domestic rabbit outside?
Make sure it is a domestic rabbit first - wild rabbits are an agouti colour or pure black and are small with pointy faces and up ears
Try and find the owner - Post on local pages and groups and phone local vets to alert people to the rabbit in case it has escaped and someone is looking for it.
Try and catch the rabbit - use any means to try and catch the rabbit. Once you have caught it, place it in a box or carrier and take it to a local vet to have it scanned for possible microchip.
Contact us and other rescues for help - the rescue will take the rabbit in and advertise it for 10 days in case someone comes forward for it. If no one does, it will be rehomed by the centre.
DO NOT TAKE THE RABBIT HOME IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN RABBITS - leave it with the vet or take it to an SSPCA centre
