Bett

ADOPTED
“Any time while I was a slave, if one minute's freedom had been offered to me, and I had been told that I must die at the end of that minute, I would have taken it just to stand one minute on God's earth a free woman.” - Elizabeth Freeman

About

Age: estimated 4-6 years
Breed: Polish
Size: Small
Gender: Female

Elizabeth Freeman, nicknamed "mum Bett" was the first enslaved African American to file and win a freedom suit in Massachusetts. By helping end slavery in Massachusetts, she helped inspire women everywhere to fight for their rights.

Our very own Bett inspires us with her incredible resilience, despite what she has been through she has fought to defy odds and has shown us what freedom can feel like. Bett is a motherly bun, nurturing and loving with others and has a beautiful nature. She is gentle, sweet and easy to get along with.

Bett has been learning to play with toys, her favourite is her grassy tunnel stuffed with plants. She loves her food and will come running to the sound of rustling. Playing outside in the garden on a sunny day is a lot of fun for her and she loves to stretch her legs on the grass. In the house she enjoys pottering about and takes her time exploring and getting used to things.

She would love a friend, or a whole bunch of them to snuggle with. She
would make a great follower friend for a confident bossy bun as she would love to listen and copy someone, she would also enjoy being in a group with a variety of personalities and she wouldn't cause any drama.

Home Criteria

Bett needs a calm home environment where she can settle at her own pace and not be rushed to interact. She would prefer a home with no young children.

She is equally content and explorative indoors and outdoors, so would be happy in a home with either, although would love to get some outdoor time if possible. She would also be very content having a puppy pen "base" to be closed in at times, somewhere which would be a safe space for her.

Bett is not scared of other animals so could live in a multi species household.

Special Requirements

Bett and the other Inspirational buns are as "low maintenance" as rabbits get!
