8 out of 10 rabbits purchased are given up in the first year, and end up unwanted and in rescues. The aim of our trial programme is to educate people on rabbit care and prevent more rabbits entering rescues unnecessarily.
Our foster to adopt trial programme is for families new to bunnies. This scheme is free of charge, and allows you to learn more about what its like to live with rabbits before jumping into the 10+ year commitment.
How it works
You'll be matched with a pair of bunnies who will best suit your home, family and lifestyle. The supplies and equipment required for that pair are provided free for you during your trial.
The bunnies come to stay with you for 2 months. In that time, you'll have regular check ins and continual support and advice from our team of rabbit experts. Along the way, you'll learn a lot about rabbits and your pair specifically.

What you will need
- Enough space inside your home for a pair of rabbits. At least an 8x6ft space in the house or in a garden room/outbuilding/garage.
- Time to care for your bunnies each day. They will require at least an hour in the morning and night to clean, feed, groom and care for.
- Transport to get your rabbits to the vet in an emergency.
Our trials are most often a huge success with many adopting their pair at the end. If during your time fostering you realise bunnies are not for you, no harm done and the bunnies come back to the rescue.
