BIMBUS
Bimbus is a darling little boy who was mis sexed by the breeder and sold with his sister as a female which then led to a surprise inbred baby. The person was not in a position to care for the 3 of them so gave them up to the rescue at all under a year old. Sadly when they arrived hidden behind the pile of fur was a very sorry little eye of Bimbus. He was suffering with severe Glaucoma which is an extremely sore condition of the eye, caused due to his breeding (breeding rabbits with large bulgy eyes can cause this). He was showing signs of pain and flinching. We got him onto pain relief and eye drops to help with the pain and discomfort but this was not a long term solution of him.
The condition has caused the pressure behind his eye to increase and sadly he is now likely to need surgery to remove his eye to prevent it rupturing and getting infected. This will be a huge invasive surgery and will cost into the four figures. Thanks to the Ophthalmology department at the Royal Dick Vet School, Bimbus now has the best chance to help his eye and improve his quality of life so that he can go on to find a forever home.
