About Us
Baby Blue Bee Bunnies is a non profit, constituted organisation which helps rabbits and owners across the whole of Scotland. The rescue itself was founded in 2017 by husband and wife team Richard & Jeniveeve with the aim to rescue, rehabilitate rabbits and find them their forever home. They realised there was a massive need for rabbit rescues in Scotland and their specific ethos set them apart from any other rescues.
We are the only rabbit specialist rescue in Scotland that has a home hub centre that you can go and meet the rabbits and have them matched to you.
We now have a large volunteer team across Scotland who help with various roles and are there to help with anything you need in your adoption journey including 24/7 support and advice during and after adoption, something many other rescues are unable to offer.

Our Ethos
Our specific ethos is to ensure the homes the rabbits go to are their forever homes and we pride ourselves on supporting owners which results in rabbits not being returned to the rescue. we match rabbits based on 5 main criteria to ensure not only the rabbits but the owners are happy in the environment that suits them best. We are the only rabbit rescue in Scotland to have a dedicated rabbit behaviourist who works one to one with each rabbit to assess them, to see which type of home would suit them best and also to assess the temperament type of each rabbit to then match them well to other rabbit companions.
We do not take the "take one and try it" approach or the "conveyor belt" rescue approach. We ensure a perfect match the first time, taking special consideration of the owner and rabbits involved and rabbits are not shoved out the door quickly. Instead, rabbits enjoy a "home from home" while they stay with us and we are in no rush to have any of them adopted. The focus is on the right home. All rabbits stay with us a minimum of 4 weeks when they enter the rescue, to ensure that they have had all the appropriate vet and health checks and been properly assessed. We will not adopt them to a home they are not suited to and we do not allow people to pick a rabbit they like the look of and simply adopt them if it is not in the best interests of the rabbit or the right home for them.
We are a completely vegan run rescue and the welfare of the rabbits is our highest priority. We will never put a happy or healthy rabbit to sleep and extensive vet treatment will always be given regardless of cost including CT scans. This may mean we have to turn away other rabbits on our waiting list, however the rabbits who are with us are our top priority and we will ensure that they always get the best care.
