Biriatou

About

Age:  4 years
Breed: Double maned Lionhead
Size: Small
Gender: Female

Biriatou is a pretty little girl who has had lots of TLC at the rescue and is now finally ready to look for her match. Her little world involves popping from one cosy bed to the next, enjoying a plethora of naps and testing each out. Our little goldilocks loves to taste test too, sniffing foods until they are "just right". She may have high standards, but her needs are simple - a safe place to be comfy and a bunny friend who will love her.

All her years of loneliness have led to her carrying some baggage with her, but she has been slowly emptying the suitcase and hopes to move in somewhere she can fully unpack. She takes time to trust and has sadly been let down a number of times by people so understandable she is hesitant to quickly let her guard down.

There are some rabbits who need another rabbit more desperately than others, and our little fluff ball needs one so much! She is naturally timid and soft natured, she will let out a quiet grunt if you startle her but prefers to scarper off into her hide until the coast is clear. Once she trusts you, she will show you that she truly loves head rubs and nuzzling in, she just needs to feel safe with you first. She is looking for somebun to sit and encourage her to eat hay, move around and discover what life has to offer. Sadly despite our best attempts, we are merely inadequate. If you have a brave bunny who could take care of her and teach her how to bunny - get in touch!

Home Criteria

  • Adult only home (or older teens) - Biri is a shy girl who needs a calm environment without the hustle and bustle of little ones.
  • Indoor home with cosy home comforts - she likes soft things and doesn't like hard flooring. She likes to have rugs and mats around to hop on safely. She is happy to be puppy penned in and is a good candidate for apartment living as she prefers to stay in her safe zone.

Special Requirements

  • This breed needs regular grooming to prevent matting and prevent eye infections - we can help with this and offer a grooming service
  • Biriatou would be better suited with someone who has rabbit experience and is willing to let her come out her shell at her own pace
