Bimbo
ADOPTED
About
Gender: Female
Breed: DoubleManed Lionhead
Age: 5 years
Size: Small
Bimbo is a sweet little bun who we have nicknamed "granny Bimbo" as she is an old little soul with a dittery mind. She bops around happily but likes to spend a lot of time in one area just snuggling on her vetbed, munching hay and snoozing. She is a laid back girly with a gentle nature, she wouldn't say boo to a goose. At first she can be shy around new people but once she gets to know you she will come to greet you and adores head and ear rubs. She is unsure of loud noises and children and seeks comfort from her rabbit companions when she is unsure of something. This little granny at heart seeks a home she can chill and be pampered, with no time schedule or job to do, just somewhere to relax and a friend or two to snuggle with.
Bimbo would make a great addition to a trio or group of buns as she is very easily accepted and accepting of other rabbits. Being very simple minded, she lives on her own planet believing no harm of anyone and treats everyone with no judgement, only worried about where she will get her next strand of hay from. Due to her eye (more info below) she must be bonded to at least 1 other rabbit who is good at grooming and likes to groom other buns eyes and faces.

Home Criteria
- Bimbo would like somewhere indoors that she can kick back and chill, or should I say, loaf and chill. (she is a little loafer!) She cannot be rehomed outdoors due to her sensitive nature and coat.
- She cannot be rehomed to a busy household with young children as she doesn't like a lot of noise and prefers a quiet home environment.
- She would not like a home with dogs or cats either, just bunnies please.
- Her new companion/s must be good at grooming and have shown to be good groomers to other buns.
Special Requirements
Bimbo is a girl who has no issues demolishing food or being health checked, she sits good as gold for all her "spa treatments" (we let her think she is at the spa, she is none the wiser!). However, due to her short face, her teeth roots on one side of her face press on her tear ducts, meaning she gets a watery eye which leads to chronic dacryocystitis and eye infection if not cared for. To manage this, three things are required:
1. The hair around her eye and face MUST be kept short to prevent the fur growing into her eye which triggers the infection.
2. Another rabbit who is good at grooming her eye and can keep it clean for her.
3. Eye drops if needed to help with the watering and inflammation and if it gets worse, her tear duct needs to be flushed (this is an easy, routine procedure not requiring GA and is not expensive). She has only had to have 2 tear duct flushes because the symptoms were not managed, now we have her in a good routine she hasn't needed to have any for many months.
Being a double maned lionhead, she needs brushed or trimmed short to keep her from matting. She enjoys being brushed and doesn't mind sitting to be trimmed, she is used to this. For more info on the care for this breed, click here.
