Basenji

About

Age: 1 year
Breed: Mini Lop cross
Size: Small
Gender: Male

The Basenji is a fun, loving and loyal dog breed that originates from Central Africa. They are bouncy, playful and don't bark!

Our very own Basenji doesn't bark either, but he does know how to zoomie! Basenji is a young, playful and sweet bun who has taken his time coming out of his shell during his time with us. He has blossomed into a curious, clever and gentle bun and the definition of a lover not a fighter.

He keeps his room tidy, loves a grassy toy, chomping on hay all day and doing zoomies on his rug each evening. He's not much of a jumper, preferring to spend his time on the ground level and likes to loaf on the cool flooring rather than being cosy. He is extremely food motivated and loves playing with his stacking cups.

Basenji is looking for a home he can grow up in and continue to learn, develop and bond with a person/family. He is nosy and loves to explore but would value a rabbit companion he can follow and copy. He has a really sweet temperament and would thrive in a trio/group too.

Home Criteria

  •  Likes indoor living, has been trusted free roaming and he also enjoys some garden time
  • Would make an ideal companion for a rabbit who has strict rules and needs someone compliant
  • Can live with a family provided any children in the home are understanding of rabbit behaviour and calm in their interactions with him
  • Has grown up in a home with dogs, cats and birds

Special Requirements

None he is a happy healthy boy
